The Pipers' Scene
An exhibition of photography at Peter Potter Gallery
http://bit.ly/9Kg7ef
As Haddington Pipe Band celebrate their 30th Anniversary, a collection of images were shot throughout the year to mark the occasion. The images will be used in a commemorative 2011 calendar with the launch of an exhibition. The exhibition is open at Peter Potter Gallery in Haddington, showing 50 different images which visually tell the story of the band.
The Gallery also has a delightful cafe with a mouth watering array of home baking!! Mmmmmm
Opening Saturday 16th October 2pm

A school boy hero!

Image shot for SOAS - Developing co-operation farming, food and rural Scotland. |
Arrived on location and never knowing what to expect I saw my challenge, the area in which we were shooting the portraits of the farmers was dimly lit with sodium lights. Shooting under this light source is not straight forward.
The guy in the middle? An old school boy hero, John Jeffrey’s Scottish Rugby International.

Lit with two reflectors to retain as much natural light and colours as possible whilst removing unwanted shadows, plus bouncing a speedlight to keep the text and graphics nice and clean.
One problem, I'm on a diet and I really wanted one, the joys of food photography!!

Mactaggart & Mickel award winning homebuilder
Been photographing many of "MacMic" showhomes for 5 years now. Every time I'm in one of their new developments I just want to move in. Wonder what they'd say to a photographer squatting.

Shooting Furniture for Reid.
Reid furniture approached me to shoot a new range of sofas which where to be shot on white backgrounds. They wanted the images to show off the different fabrics and textures from the main image, without using detail shots shot at a narrow depth.
Studio on location

Mmmmm!!! new lights - to buy or not to buy - BUY!!
Gemini 1500 Pro TravelPak Kit
With the freedom of using these studio powered lights outside the studio means I will be able shoot anywhere, even when the power supply is limited inside a large factory or in the middle of a field. What will I be doing in the middle of field, you never know but these bad boys will give me superb power with out the need of an electric socket!!
